Fendo for excess insurers
What a claimant can send you
- The car at pickup and at return: the same 15 views both times, including each wheel close up, with the pickup photo laid over the camera at return so the angles match.
- Times you do not have to take on trust: each photo's fingerprint is signed by our server when it is taken, and each lap is also stamped by an independent public time-stamp authority (RFC 3161).
- Side-by-side comparison of each pickup and return view, with any damage the renter noted.
- The desk agent's sign-off, when the renter got one, with the exact words signed.
- The rental paperwork (agreement, return receipt, the company's damage report), fingerprinted and stamped like the photos.
Once the car is back, the app also lists what excess insurers usually ask a claimant for (rental agreement, damage report or matrix, invoice or card statement, licence), so claims arrive more complete.
How your claims team checks a report
Open fendoapp.com/check and drop in the PDF. The page recomputes each photo's fingerprint in the browser and checks it against the signed record and the time stamps. Nothing is uploaded. Each photo in the PDF also has its own "Verify online" link. The time stamps can be checked with standard tools such as openssl ts -verify, without Fendo.
Why this helps an excess insurer
- Some policy wordings ask renters to note damage at pickup and to keep dated photos. Most renters do not. Fendo makes that a three-minute step.
- Costs a renter can recover from the hire company are usually not covered. A renter with dated evidence can challenge an unfair charge before it becomes a claim, and Fendo drafts that letter for them.
- Where a claim does follow, it comes with the condition evidence and paperwork attached, which means fewer requests for missing documents.
What we ask of a partner
Link Fendo where your customers will see it before pickup: the policy confirmation email, the policy documents or your claims guidance. Use your own link, https://fendoapp.com/?via=yourname. Fendo is free for renters and for partners. There is no fee and no integration work.
Each month we can send you anonymous totals for your link: app opens, laps finished at pickup and return, and reports saved. Your short name is the only thing attached to those counts.
Privacy
Fendo has no accounts. A renter's photos, plate and notes stay on their own phone, and we cannot see them. We do not share personal data with partners, and a partner link carries none. A claimant sends you their report themselves, when they choose to. See the privacy page for exactly what reaches our server.
Where Fendo is today
Fendo is new. It went live in November 2026 and is free, and it is run from the United Kingdom. We do not have user numbers to show you yet. A partner link is how we would both find out what difference it makes.
